Who we are
GrooveCut is a music editing tool built by Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) for dance teachers. This policy explains what data GrooveCut collects, why we collect it, and how we look after it. PBT is the data controller.
What we collect
When you create a GrooveCut account, we store your email address and your display name. When you use the editor, we store the audio files you upload, the project names and edit history you create inside GrooveCut, and basic usage logs (which features you used, when you logged in). We do not collect payment details directly; that is handled by PBT's membership system.
Why we collect it
Your email address lets us manage your account, send password resets, and verify your PBT membership status. Your audio files and edit history are stored so your projects persist between sessions. Usage logs help us identify and fix technical issues. None of this data is sold to third parties or used for advertising.
Audio files
Audio files you upload to GrooveCut are stored on PBT's servers for as long as your project exists. When you delete a project, the associated audio files are removed. When you close your account, all audio files tied to that account are deleted within 30 days. We do not listen to, analyse, or share your audio files. They are yours.
Data retention
Account data (email, name, project list, edit history) is retained while your account is active. If you close your account, everything is deleted within 30 days. If your PBT membership lapses and is not renewed within 90 days, your GrooveCut account data may also be removed. We will email you before that happens.
Cookies
GrooveCut uses a single session cookie to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics on authenticated pages. That is it.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of all data we hold about you, request corrections, or ask us to delete your account entirely. To do any of these things, email support@pbt.dance. We will respond within a reasonable time. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
