How to loop a section of a song for choreography

Select the bars you want to drill and loop them on repeat so dancers can run one phrase over and over. GrooveCut snaps the loop to the beat so it never starts mid-count — no awkward half-bar entries.

How to do it in GrooveCut

  1. 1

    Load your track at GrooveCut

Go to groovecut.pbt.dance and open the song you're teaching.

  2. 2

    Select the section

Click and drag on the waveform to highlight the phrase. It snaps to the nearest bar automatically.

  3. 3

    Turn on loop

Press the loop button. GrooveCut will repeat that selection continuously.

  4. 4

Adjust start and end to the exact 8-count

Fine-tune the loop boundaries until it starts and ends right on the count.

  5. 5

    Play it on repeat hands-free

Step away from the computer and correct your dancers while the loop runs itself.

Why it matters for dance

Drilling one phrase without rewinding by hand keeps your hands free to teach, demonstrate, and correct — the way class should run.
